When Hayato found himself back in his world, alone, he naturally had written off what happened at the manor as a dream... but at the same time... he couldn’t help but feel the pangs of heartbreak. He felt stupid for falling for something that had to have been a dream.... but the idea of having someone that loved him for just being him... it... it was too good to be true... but didn’t matter now. He had to push his feelings aside. His future self had failed the Tenth, now he was in the future with his boss to try to prevent this from happening. But it wasn’t easy, the Vongola were being hunted for their Vongola rings by the Millefiore family. While he didn't want to admit it... he was scared. He had already failed the Tenth once, he was in this strange foreign world where there was a price on his head, and to top it all off he had lost the boy who loved him.... naturally his mood had taken a SPECIAL turn south. He had already lashed out on Yamamoto a few times. Now him and the baseball idiot were screwed into an all knew lifetime because he lost his temper. One of the Millefiore generals had engaged them in a fight, Yamamoto was down, and now Hayato was being toyed with by Gamma. The man had him pinned on the ground, stepping on his hand until their was a sickening crack. Hayato screamed in agony but refused to say a word... he would gladly die for his boss’s sake. This was all his fault to begin with. If he hadn’t acted out... if his future self hadn’t failed his boss....

He raises his weapon, and the two foxes once again begin to spark, but at the last minute the blond man turns to his right, blocking an incoming attack with the foxes. There stands another man, dark haired,
very Asian."I'll give you a hint about what you want to know. They came from the past."
The two men began to engage in combat, the dark haired man leading the fight away from the three boys, but not before casting a curious glance at Ryuutaro.
no subject
The solution apparently appeared to be another man he didn't know. Ryuutaro had no idea where he came from and whether he was good or bad, but he appreciated the fact the he showed up.
Once the two man got away a bit, Ryuutaro felt that he could move again.
There was only one direction his feet would carry him now. It was more of uncoordinated stumbling, but he was dashing over to Hayato, totally disregarding the other injured boy.
Falling to his knees next to him, Ryuutaro looked him over. They needed to get away from here, but he didn't even know how he could touch him without hurting him further.
Hesitantly he brought up his hand, featherly brushing Hayato's cheek.
"Hayato...? C-can you hear me? ... if so... just... look at me, alright? Just..."
Ryuutaro trailed off, not knowing what more he could even say.

He needed to think this through rationally, but it was so hard. Seeing Hayato like this made his chest hurt. He couldn't stand it. This shouldn't happen. It just shouldn't.
Ryuutaro held back the tears. There was no way he'd cry now. It'd only make him weaker.
Finally a coherent thought hit him. He couldn't carry Hayato away from here alone, couldn't treat his wounds, but...
"D-do you have any allies around here, who I could get? Don't talk, just blink two times for 'yes' and one time for 'no'."
no subject
He was scared. Scared for Yamamoto's life. Scared for his own. Scared that he would leave Ryuutaro alone in this world. The only thing the teen could do was to lean his head slightly into Ryuutaro's touch. He wanted to tell Ryuutaro he was scared.... to be close to his boyfriend.... but all he could do was just look up at him... frightened.
no subject
"That man... h-he talked about killing you... you 'both'. So he's supposedly... in the same state as you."
Ryuutaro really didn't feel like going over to check. He didn't want to leave Hayato's side even for a second and that boy was just a stranger.
Ryuutaro took a deep breath, trying to keep his sanity. He let his finger gently pet Hayato's face some more, an attempt to calm them both down.
"We're going to get through this...", he whispered even though he had no idea if that was true, "It will be fine... It will be fine..."
no subject
no subject
"Hayato... Please... d-don't leave me now."
Now Ryuutaro just couldn't keep the tears out of his eyes. This was too much. Usually he at least had time to prepare for bad events, due to his ability, but now...
"...please..."
He didn't even know what he was asking for anymore.
no subject
The teen has to take a few shallow breaths before he can get himself together enough to speak. It's raspy and barely above a whisper, and more blood dribbles from his mouth as he speaks.
"Ti...ti amo..."
And then, he reaches that shaky hand to brush a tear away from his lover's cheek, however the gesture is cut short. His eyes roll back and his hand falls, the teen's body finally goes completely limp.
no subject
He still didn't know just what Hayato had said... but he remembered to have heard those words before. Remembered the way Hayato'd said them. If this was... what he really needed Ryuutaro to know there was little doubt about the meaning.
"I ...love.. you, too", he whispered, hearing his own voice turn into a helpless sob.
It hurt. It physically hurt him.
This wasn't over. He refused to believe it was. Hayato'd wake up. He had to. There was no other possible future.
He had to wake up.
And yet Ryuutaro couldn't stop himself from crying. The fortune-teller just broke down, struggling to breath through his convulsive sobbing.
Why did this have to hurt so much? Why did he make himself so attackable by falling in love?
But he knew the answer anyway.
Because every single moment had been worth it. Because it was fate.
And this wasn't over now. Fate would never do that to him. Hayato would wake up. He would. He would.
Ryuutaro told that to himself countless times while sitting in front of his boyfriend's unmoving body.

"Gokudera-kun! Yamamoto!"
And then another boy stumbles through the bushes, nearly tripping over his own two feet. His eyes are wide and full of panic when he sees his friends on the ground, he rushes towards them, stopping at Yamamoto and falling to his friend's side, since Yamamoto was closer. He bites his lip as he looks him over then up at Gokudera to see his condition. His worry turned to surprise when he sees the the teary... what he assumes is a girl in front of him. Obviously this one was upset about Gokudera's condition... so was she his friend? Tsuna had never seen her before, and they hadn't met anyone here in the future... so maybe she knew Gokudera's older self? Tsuna swallows the lump in his throat to address 'her'.
"A-are you.... are you a friend of Gokudera-kun's?"
no subject
This was nothing he'd willingly let people see him like.
The other person was just as unfamiliar to him as anybody else he met in this world. Judging by the worry in his voice, the boy seemed to be an ally of Hayato. Hopefully that wasn't all just an act. It didn't look like one, but Ryuutaro couldn't be completely sure.
Trusting people in this world seemed like a horrible idea.
The fortune-teller wiped his tears away, hoping not to ruin his make-up much more. His voice was extremely shaky, no matter how much he tried to control himself.
"Hayato's my boyfriend", he stated without hesitation. And then he added, with a lot of waryness: "And who are you?"
Right now he couldn't bring himself to fake much politeness.
no subject
The boy stops himself, there were more important things to deal with right now. He gets up, carefully stepping over Yamamoto, to kneel down on the other side of Gokudera. He offers Gokudera's 'girlfriend' an awkward and meek little smile.
"My name's Sawada Tsunayoshi, G-Gokudera-kun's my friend."
Yes Ryuutaro, this tiny, meek, and derpy little thing is the brave, strong, courageous, and all around most amazing person ever that Gokudera never shut-up about. Of course this little teen doesn't consider himself mafia, thus he considers Gokudera his friend over his 'right-hand-man'.
no subject
Even though for them it had been over a year, in this world Hayato probably had never been missing.
Naturally, Hayato could've told him, but at the risk of sounding insane...? It was unlikely.
And if it was like it had been for him when he was returned to his world, Hayato might... have passed it off as a dream. The thought did hurt a bit.
"How I got here is ... quite a long story", Ryuutaro said in the very same moment he recognized that name. He rarely heard it, because the name 'tenth' was so much more present, but... could this be? Could this really be?
"My name's Fukami Ryuutaro", he introduced himself, looking at the other boy. This was nothing like what he imagined that wondrous tenth to look like, "You're... the 'Tenth' if I'm not mistaken?"
no subject
... Actually... it... shouldn't have been that much of a surprise. Gokudera had been... sort of... stalker-ish to Tsuna in the past. Really it was just sort of pulling the pieces together... which he had never bothered doing... he was usually too busy trying to keep Gokudera out of trouble. They flaily little teen calms down a bit when Ryuutaro asks the second question... he's still a bit confused to say the least, but calmer. This whole situation was just so weird, but he would have to let this sink in later.
Of course Gokudera would go around calling him the 'Tenth' or 'Boss'... and probably blowing his image way out of proportion, hence this boy's confusion. He meekly rubs the back of his neck and looks away, a bit embarrassed thinking of what Gokudera probably said about him.
"Y-yeah... Gokudera-kun... made me out to be a lot more then I really am again, didn't he? He does that a lot."
no subject
Not after obviously mistaking him for a girl.
"I assure you, I am completely male."
Taking the fan back, he looked down at his unconscious boyfriend, swallowing hard.
"I will gladly explain some more of these things to you, once we got him away from here. He needs help... "
Ryuutaro had to take a deep breath to keep himself from losing composure again.
no subject
clearly he had never seen Hayato after his run ins with cars."Here, I'll be right back."
And he turns to run back from where he came, only to be stopped as a tall figure
with hair that could poke out an eyeemerges from the bush. Tsuna looks started for a moment. "Ah! Y-you're..?!""Kusakabe Tetsuya," The man interrupts, "Hibari's subordinate."
Tsuna nods and backs up to let the man pass and give him access to the two injured boys on the ground. He lifts up their shirts and pokes them a bit, getting a small flinch or grunt in pain from the boys if he hit an injury.
"Their lives are not in immediate danger, but still need to get them treated quickly." The man easily hefts the taller boy, Yamamoto, onto his back, then looks to Ryuutaro curiously. Tsuna nods, wordlessly letting Tetsuya know that he was with them.
"Can you two take Gokudera-san?"
Tsuna nods again, and goes back to the spot next to Gokudera, slowly trying to ease him up into a sitting potion so he can get Gokudera's arm over his shoulder. He's careful not to touch Gokudera's damaged hand, instead holding his wrist to keep him supported. It felt so strange to be holding onto Gokudera like this, usually he was at least somewhat conscious.... but now... his body was just completely limp. His head lolled lifelessly as he was moved, the only sign that he was alive was his labored raspy breathing. It was frightening....
no subject
Even though he had no idea where the man saying them came from and why being subordinate of a certain 'Hibari' made him trustworthy. It seemed like he had no choice but to play along with all of this. Figuring out this world would probably take him a long time.
Ryuutaro wordlessly helps Tsuna with carrying Hayato. This did feel as horrible to him as it did to the other boy. Ryuutaro bit his lip.
He only spoke up again after they already silently carried Hayato for a while.
"Who was the man who did this? And... why did he do it?"
no subject
"It's... a long story... and it's kind of hard to explain. But I guess the easiest way of saying it is... well... the Vongola are being hunted. As for who attacked Yamamoto and Gokudera-kun, I think his name is Gamma"
They step into a clearing by a shrine.
"WAS Gamma." The tall, dark haired Asian man corrects Tsuna, standing right near the mangled body of the blonde man.
spoilers, he's not dead. "There's an entrance to the base here." The man turns, and looks like he's about to walk into a pillar, but suddenly just disappears.Tsuna's eyes widen in shock. "H-Hibari-san!? H-he disappeared!"
Kusakabe takes off Yamamoto's Vongola ring and then speaks up, "There is, however, one problem with us taking our leave from here. That is the rain and storm Vongola rings. They would have shown up on the enemy radar by now. We can't let their signal disappear from here."
A dark-hair woman with a peculiar scar on the right side of her cheek steps forward. "I understand. Leave this matter to me." She takes the Rain guardian's ring, and then holds her hand out to Ryuutaro, since the storm ring was on the hand draped over his shoulder. Her stare at the new boy is harsh. She hadn't met him before, and obviously didn't trust him. But now was not the time for such matters, she would, however, be sure to keep a close watch on him.
no subject
At least he knew what the woman wanted, even though he didn't like the way she looked at him. Not that he trusted her or anybody here any more than she trusted him.
Hesitantly he got the ring of his boyfriends hand, handing it over. He hardly had a choice at the moment and certainly wouldn't argue with the people here.
Getting through this somehow seemed to be the only thing he could do right now.
no subject
Tsuna seems just as new to this as Ryuutaro, looking around the underground facility curiously. He asks Tetsuya a few questions here and there, mostly about where they were. Supposedly some research facility of Hibari's that was connected to the Vongola base... but closed off until now because Hibari hated people crowds.
Eventually they come to a point where they can lay Hayato down on a stretcher. It's a bit difficult, Gokudera was not only taller (if that wasn't evident by how his feet had been dragging on the ground the whole way there...) but he was heavier too. Slowly he helps get Gokudera into a sitting position, then easing him down, holding his head so it doesn't loll around as they do so. That had really been bothering Tsuna. After getting the teens legs up he steps back and lets him get wheeled off. He looks at Ryuutaro again, a bit worried for him too, but also curious.
"Um... do you want to borrow some clothes? Yours got sort of bloody... I'm sure there's a place we can wash them around here...." Tsuna looks around as though a magical laundry room will appear before them,"Um... I can tell you more about what's going on if you want..."
and hopefully he would talk more about how he knew Gokudera...
no subject
He even felt unsure wearing other clothes around Hayato, so he could live without having that feeling around a bunch of confusing strangers. And he didn't want to leave Hayato's side for a moment either.
"I'm fine like this, thank you", Ryuutaro answered putting on a fake smile, "And some more information would be helpful... Unfortunately I don't know too much about any of this."
no subject
"Well... um... has Gokudera-kun ever told you about Lambo? and his 10-yeah bazooka? It's some weird weapon that if you get hit with it, you switch out with yourself 10 years in the future for five minutes." He looks down at his hands, fidgeting with them awkwardly. He wouldn't tell this strange boy that 10 years in the future he was... in a coffin. That news hadn't gone over well with Gokudera, and Tsuna figured it was probably for the better if this boy didn't bring it up with Gokudera."Well, I got hit by it first while looking for someone, I met Gokudera for a minute, but then he got switched out too.... and for some reason even after 5 minutes we couldn't go back. Yamamoto and a few of our other friends got switched out too eventually. We're still looking for some of them. Apparently, though, in the future, I had the Vongola rings destroyed, because I didn't want to have to see my friends have to fight for them again..."
He cringed thinking about the ring battles too. Gokudera and Yamamoto hadn't come out much better then they had now... but at least they had been conscious.
"There's a mafia family here, the Millifiore, who started hunting other mafias and destroying them. Right now they're after the Vongola... th-they're hunting us, and they want the Vongola rings."
Tsuna holds out his hand looking at his ring, wrapping in a small chain so the other family couldn't pick it up on their radar or whatever it was. Now that his part was mostly-sort-of explained the best way he knew how, he had his own question.
"um... what about you? Where did you come from? H-how did you and Gokudera-kun.... um... y-you know.... start dating...?"
no subject
At Tsuna's questions Ryuutaro still staid silent for a moment, hesitating on how to reply. He could make up some weird lies here, but since he knew next to nothing about the world it wouldn't go over well.
Still the truth was going to make him sound insane. But he didn't have much of a choice at the moment.
The fortune-teller put on a smile, opening his fan.
"What I'm telling you now will probably sound extremely unlikely to you... Then again most of the things you told me a minute ago sound unlikely as well, so I hope you won't directly pass me off as insane. When Hayato wakes up, he'll tell you the same story."
Ryuutaro took another deep breath.
"I'm from some kind of alternate version of Japan", he was not going to say 'other world' yet because that sounded even weirder, "Technically I shouldn't have gotten to known Hayato and I shouldn't be here, but there is some kind of... interdimensional place, sucking people in. While here you most likely didn't notice his absence, Hayato spent far over a year at that place. He probably never told you about it, because... it sounds insane. And when you get back to your world it's likely that you think it's just a dream..."
Ryuutaro paused, closing the fan again.
"I did, too, when I was returned to my world for a short period of time... that was until Hayato literally blew up the door to the room I was in." - deliberately not saying 'cell' here- "I don't really know why he ended up in my world for a short period of time and neither do I really know why I'm here at the moment."
And now he arrived at Tsuna's last question. He tapped the fan against his lips, smiling sweetly. This was naturally none of Tsuna's business, but Ryuutaro almost felt something like jealousy because in the end there were still so many things he didn't know about his boyfriend.
"And fortune brought us together as a couple about a year ago. For us, at least."
Ryuutaro chuckled, opening the fan in front of his face.
"I don't think Hayato'd appreciate if I told you too many"
dirty"details about our time together. Let's just say it's fate."no subject
Well at first that story just gets the most confused blank stare from Tsuna. Tsuna would be the first to admit he wasn't very smart, and that story was just too weird!
Up until the part about Gokudera blowing up a door. That sounded like him. Tsuna nods at the statement, remembering how the teen had once blown up a playground...
Though Tsuna's expressions take on an all new level of FLAIL when Ryuutaro begins to talk about their relationship. His cheeks light up, and his eyes practically pop out of his head. He REALLY couldn't understand how this boy and Gokudera had gotten together. He knew Gokudera could be a bit of a bully... alright MORE than a bit, and well... this sort of person seemed like the type Gokudera would like the LEAST. But he didn't seem to be lying... and seeing this boy crying over Gokudera in the woods, it all felt real, his hyper intuition wouldn't miss a deception like this. It would be tough to explain to the other guardians, but Tsuna trusted Ryuutaro. He calms down, a bit worried about this strange boy now, but he didn't know if there was anything he could do to help him feel better.
"S-so... that might be part of the reason why Gokudera-kun has been acting so strangely... He must have missed you."
Granted the other part probably had something to do with Tsuna in a coffin...Just then a rather scruffy-looking man walks through the door, in complete doctors garb.
"The boys are stable if you want to go see them. You owe me for this one kid, you know how I am about treating men..."
