When Hayato found himself back in his world, alone, he naturally had written off what happened at the manor as a dream... but at the same time... he couldn’t help but feel the pangs of heartbreak. He felt stupid for falling for something that had to have been a dream.... but the idea of having someone that loved him for just being him... it... it was too good to be true... but didn’t matter now. He had to push his feelings aside. His future self had failed the Tenth, now he was in the future with his boss to try to prevent this from happening. But it wasn’t easy, the Vongola were being hunted for their Vongola rings by the Millefiore family. While he didn't want to admit it... he was scared. He had already failed the Tenth once, he was in this strange foreign world where there was a price on his head, and to top it all off he had lost the boy who loved him.... naturally his mood had taken a SPECIAL turn south. He had already lashed out on Yamamoto a few times. Now him and the baseball idiot were screwed into an all knew lifetime because he lost his temper. One of the Millefiore generals had engaged them in a fight, Yamamoto was down, and now Hayato was being toyed with by Gamma. The man had him pinned on the ground, stepping on his hand until their was a sickening crack. Hayato screamed in agony but refused to say a word... he would gladly die for his boss’s sake. This was all his fault to begin with. If he hadn’t acted out... if his future self hadn’t failed his boss....

If anything, he'd thought that anybody close to him would have to fight for him. But here he was, being the one to do all these things. Even willing to accept hurt from Hayato.
Ryuutaro couldn't decide if it was weak or strong. To his self from before Battle Bladers, before meeting Hayato, it would've been weak. But now he wasn't sure anymore. Not giving up and holding on like this was not weak at all.
"I needed air back then...."
Ryuutaro looked up into Hayato's eyes.
"If you want to do all those things for me, then do them. When I turn away, pull me back. When I'm far away, come running for me. "
He couldn't believe he just said that, practically told Hayato to keep him chained to him.
But why should he be the only one to always come chasing?

And now... it was okay to bind himself to him? Ryuutaro... loved him that much?
Hayato grabbed Ryuutaro's face and forcefully pressed his lips against his lovers, in a passionate kiss. Words could not express how he felt. Heck, he wasn't even sure this kiss could. If Hibari wasn't twenty feet away, he would have made love to Ryuutaro right here. After a few moments of the kiss, he pulls back, his eyes welled up, and a smile on his face.
"I'll run after you as long as you let me chase you... and I promise, I-I'll keep giving you everything I have..."
Because in his own way, he was giving everything he could to their relationship. Everyday he did his best to fight the long ingrained fears of abandonment. He constantly tried to keep his sour tempter in check around Ryuutaro... and... he genuinely cared about someone besides himself. He had turned against everything he had learned growing up when he made Ryuutaro such an important part of his life, and it made him vulnerable.
Ryuutaro had the power to destroy him in just a few words... and this terrified Hayato more than anything else, but at the same time he was in love enough to fight that fear every day.

It still scared him.
But then that kiss came to reassure him. Ryuutaro's eyes fluttered closed in the blink of an eye and he returned the kiss. It had been what he always wanted though, hadn't it? For Hayato to fight for him... If he wanted that, he had to allow it. And it felt alright.
He could feel how Hayato felt about this, the way he was capturing his lips...
When the kiss was over, Ryuutaro took his time to complete the moment of opening his eyes, savouring the feeling of having those words spoken and understood. It was odd how they were just so scared of each other and yet could be together like this. Now more than ever Ryuutaro was sure that it was a good choice to stay here. What he had now, what they shared now, it was nothing he could ever hope to find anywhere else.
"I will be taking good care of it."
He smiled softly and leaned up against, placing a short kiss on Hayato's lips.
"And I expect the same of you..."
Because in his way, he was doing the same... Giving Hayato his everything, all there was to give.
... this chunk of this thread totes made me B'awww
"Always."
And he pulls Ryuutaro onto his lap, using his boyfriend's new height so he can lean on his shoulder and close his eyes for a few moments. He just felt so calm... so calm he could feel himself drifting off to sleep. However, instead of dozing off quietly, in an attempt to stay awake, he begins to talk again. Though by his tone it's clear he's only half aware of what he's saying. His brain-to-mouth filter just vanishing.
"Mmmm.... hey Tesoro, can I ask you somethin'? I mean I know it's dumb, 'cause we can't... but I want to ask you anyway, because I love you, and I want to be with you, so it's somethin' I think I should ask and... well..."
He pulls back and looks up at Ryuutaro, a dopey, sleepy but still honest and genuine smile on his face.
"Ryuutaro... would you marry me?"
Yeeeeeeesh >w< It is just so... so. >w<
His eyes widened even more as he just stared at Hayato for a moment, wondering if he heard correctly. Then again, he most likely did... Somehow something like this just seemed to fit Hayato a lot. Only that if Ryuutaro had ever thought about it, he would've expected a lot more stuttering. But at the moment Hayato seemed to be half-asleep, so maybe it made sense.
So much for the situation... Now that Ryuutaro was done with this, he had to focus on the question itself.
Marry...?
Against his will he felt his heartbeat pick up speed. This was... just so silly. They were so young, they were both male... and this was hardly the appropriate set-up for a marriage proposal! Far from doing this properly... And did he even mean what he said or was this sleep-talking?
All those things were running through Ryuutaro's head, but somehow he couldn't bring himself to focus on them as much as he was supposed to. Instead he just repeated the word in his head again and again, looking at Hayato's smile while doing so.
Marry him?
Such a silly thought, such a poor set-up and yet... Ryuutaro felt his cheeks turn red, something that rarely ever happened.
"Y-you..." didn't just ask this, did you?
And then he laughed lightly. Against all sanity, he felt happy and light. He had the silliest, oddest, most difficult boyfriend in the world and he couldn't imagine anything better than spending his life with him.
He looked up at Hayato again, a smile on his face.
"Yes", he then replied solemnly, wondering what he was even doing and thinking. He wanted to make a remark about the unappropriate situation for this, but then he bit it back, because this moment... should be cherished as it was. "My future is your future and yours is mine."
This time it came easy to him, because essentially he had already said it moments ago. Hayato could have him, all of him, because he trusted him to not make belonging painful.

"Y'know... I would make it somethin' special too! I'd take you somewhere nice... and I'd ask you to marry me... and it would be a surprise! You wouldn't expect it at all..." Forget that he already just asked you to marry him... "I could take you out to the Gazebo where I asked you to go out with me..."
And he paused...wait a minute, something didn't seem right in his logic there.
"Wait... we can't go there... mmm... I'll find another one...."
And he closes his eyes as a tear rolls down his cheek. He's not aware of it, and he is finally drifting off... with the rare feeling of being just so happy it was almost overwhelming.
"And I'll be able to spend the rest of my life together with you..." And he lets out a yawn, "I'm so happy..."
screw the fact that there is no bed in sight. I have to use this icon someday.
The last phrases however get Ryuutaro to open his eyes again, only shortly as he let them run through his head again. He smiled.
"Sleep...", he whispered, not loud enough for Hayato to properly hear him in a state like this, "...you need it."
The rest of their lives, huh? Ryuutaro wondered what they would be like... in ten years... in fifteen years... Even for him it was hard to imagine. He didn't even know what this world would be like, having been stuck in this place all of the time... He'd been to lots of places where beyblading was unknown, but would this be the same?
He felt himself getting tired as well from all this thinking and the warm body close to him... Maybe some sleep wasn't so bad after all...
they have pillows and a blanket IT'S ALL GOOD!
Once he's finished, he start out down the halls to try to find where Ryuutaro might be... when a the sudden sound of a crash rings throughout the base, followed shortly after by an alarm.
"Sh-shit!"
And Hayato took off down the halls only to finally run into... his sister... at least she was wearing the goggles...
"Hayato! What are you doing! You need to meet up with Sawada and the others!"
"But I gotta make sure Ryuutaro's alright!"
"He's fine, I'll make sure of it. Hayato, you need to go."
He looked down and off to the side... she was right... the Vongola needed him... so he took a deep breath and unclasped one of his necklaces and handed it to Bianchi.
"Tell him I'll come back for it."
In other words, 'I won't die'- and with that he turned to find the rest of the Vongola.

As the alarm rang he just froze in shock for a moment and his hand unconsciously immediately went for Pisces and his launcher. Even if that was silly. He sighed and then went to look if someone could fill him in on what exactly was even going on.
no subject
"Fukami-kun! Quick we need to get you out of the halls!"
She's quick to start to guide Ryuutaro to one of the safer corridors, more specifically the corridor where the hospital wing was located.

"I'm sorry Fukami-kun, the base is under attack, Hibari is dealing with it, but I couldn't risk your safety." She knew how broken Hayato would be if she let something happen to him. "Hayato and the others have launched a counter-attack at the Millefiore base."
no subject
It still felt horrible to be here, in need of being protected even. In this world all of the strength he'd fought so hard for meant nothing, nothing at all. He could just wait. Against his will his facial expression turned even harder.
no subject
"Hayato wanted you to hold this for him. For when he gets back."
no subject
Only now he really understood. This was a battle. But Hayato was going to come back and it was fine.
Ryuutaro closed his pale fingers around the necklace for a moment, closing his eyes. He thought of all the moments they'd spent with each other and all the moments to possibly come.
When he opened his eyes again he looked a lot more sure of himself and the situation.
"So this is it now...", he said silently, opening his hand again. If he was to keep this he might as well put it on. The material felt nice and reassuring against his skin. Hayato was going to come back for this, for him. And Ryuutaro believed in that.
no subject
She reached to Ryuutaro's shoulder and gave it a little squeeze- much in the same manner Hayato used to, before they had gotten so close. She's about to say something when a light patter of feet come from behind them. A rather small built girl with an eyepatch hobbled into the room, leaning heavily on a trident. While in the manor, Ryuutaro may have had the displeasure of encountering Mukuro, or at least seeing some of his handy work... or heard Gokudera speak ill of the illusionist... and this girl held a STRIKING resemblance to him.
Bianchi's eyes widened in surprise and she went to go help stabilize the small girl. "Chrome?! Chrome, you shouldn't be out of bed."
The girl shook her head, "I... I want to fight too! I'm needed too... right?"
no subject
As Chrome entered he immediately turned to face her, eyeing her warily. Even if his encounters with Mukuro didn't go above any very brief contact, the resemblance was really hard to miss.
And then she spoke and all Ryuutaro could do was empathize. His fan opened immediately.
"Fate's path isn't always to be properly seen at first. Only all of the pieces add up to the greater picture in the end."
Which was to say that every part was needed, even if it didn't feel like a part at first. He just had a little too much experience in telling people things that could as well have been written in a fortune-cookie.
no subject
"...Fate?"
The girl tilted her head a little bit at the unfamiliar boy. She seems to listen to his advice though... he... made sense. It didn't make waiting on the sidelines any easier though.
Bianchi sits Chrome down, and looks to Ryuutaro for a moment. He could watch her while she went to check on the girls and the children. "I'll be right back, I need to check on Lambo and the girls." Because she doubts you want to deal with Lambo, "Could you keep an eye on Chrome Fukami-kun?"
no subject
"It'll be my pleasure."
Then he turned at Chrome and gave her one of his trademark-smiles.
"I don't think we've really met yet. My name is Ryuutaro Fukami, it's nice that our paths have finally met the crossing point."
no subject
"I'm Chrome Dokuro." She looked up at Ryuutaro for a moment, not paying any mind as Bianchi left. "You're... the other illusionist, right?"
She had heard about another illusionist that had arrived with Gokudera. She had felt some sort of familiarity about him, but it was Mukuro's and not her own. She had never met the boy before. He seemed nice enough though. And if he was another illusionist... well that was a bit of familiarity in and of itself. Illusionists weren't as common as other flame users like storm and rain.
no subject
He nodded. "Indeed. I don't think I reach up anywhere close to this places standards though. I still need a lot of work to keep up with it."
And even if it was pronounced like his usual self-flattery, this time it was just the truth, nothing more. It tasted bitter on his tongue.
no subject
She smiled meekly for a moment, and nodded a little. It was the same with her. While Mukuro was so strong... she was... small and weak. She couldn't even keep up with the other guardians without his help.
"M-me too...."
And just then the door burst open to reveal Hibari....looking as irritated as ever, with Kusakabe in tow. Without a word Kusakabe went off to the other rooms. Hibari just... stared at the two illusionist for a moment... looking ever irritated.
"I hate illusionist." Just had to get that out there. He turned so that his back was facing the two, "come on. We're leaving."
no subject
"To where?"
Because after that statement there was no way in hell he'd just let this go over without a comment. He was, however, preparing to get out of the room, looking over at Chrome to see if she'd manage.
In a situation like this he knew he should put his pride back and actually obey those who knew what was going on.
no subject
"The Millefiore base."
And at that time Chrome pushed herself to her feet leaning on her trident. She was determined to join the fight too. She wanted to try to push through her weakness and make Mukuro proud. She knew he wasn't dead, he just couldn't be! He was too strong for that...
and Kusakabe comes back with a backpack with Lambo and Ipin sitting in happily.
Then Hibari looked over his shoulder with a sly smirk.
"Unless you want to stay behind."
no subject
"I wasn't intending to be any burden."
He was a bit scared, but the desperate need to do something and grow stronger, be strong was just taking over. Even if he was weaker than most of them, he was unique, he was himself and what he could do had to have to be of some kind of use.
Even if there were other illusionists, he was fairly sure none of them worked like him. And he had clair-voyage at his side as well.
