When Hayato found himself back in his world, alone, he naturally had written off what happened at the manor as a dream... but at the same time... he couldn’t help but feel the pangs of heartbreak. He felt stupid for falling for something that had to have been a dream.... but the idea of having someone that loved him for just being him... it... it was too good to be true... but didn’t matter now. He had to push his feelings aside. His future self had failed the Tenth, now he was in the future with his boss to try to prevent this from happening. But it wasn’t easy, the Vongola were being hunted for their Vongola rings by the Millefiore family. While he didn't want to admit it... he was scared. He had already failed the Tenth once, he was in this strange foreign world where there was a price on his head, and to top it all off he had lost the boy who loved him.... naturally his mood had taken a SPECIAL turn south. He had already lashed out on Yamamoto a few times. Now him and the baseball idiot were screwed into an all knew lifetime because he lost his temper. One of the Millefiore generals had engaged them in a fight, Yamamoto was down, and now Hayato was being toyed with by Gamma. The man had him pinned on the ground, stepping on his hand until their was a sickening crack. Hayato screamed in agony but refused to say a word... he would gladly die for his boss’s sake. This was all his fault to begin with. If he hadn’t acted out... if his future self hadn’t failed his boss....

His heart was pounding against his chest almost hurtfully and for a moment all he wanted was for his nightmare to be over and done with. He wanted to wakeup wherever, sometime in the past when these problems had not existed.

Then he looked around a bit... at the lack of base... and subsequently large hole in the ground. All surprise aside, he sits next to Ryuutaro and puts his arm around him for support. As scared as he was about everything he could only imagine what Ryuutaro just went through. If he thought destroyed stadiums were a big deal...
Still, he wanted to try and help him feel better so he looked up at the now exposed sky and smiled a little.
"Well, at least we're outside now." He nuzzled his head against Ryuutaro, remembering something he had told him during the slasher week plot that seemed to be very relevent for the time being, "At least the sky's still blue."

It was just the amount of violence in this world that scared him, even though that now that Byakuran's hologram was gone, he'd surpress it as good as he could.
He scared blankly for another minute before smiling slightly as he looked at Hayato.
"Indeed. Knowing that is worth a lot."
He took a deep breath as he looked up, leaning against Hayato's shoulder.
He knew that Hayato had told him to not get used to this, he knew how much it meant to Hayato and while he knew he wouldn't be able to get used to it anytime soon, he wondered if it wouldn't be better to try, regardless of what Hayato said.
Only being here to be protected, to be scared... that was not the kind of life he'd ever want to live.

Though before Hayato could thank Ryuutaro for everything there was an unmistakable shout... from a certain lawn head- now ten years younger.
"WHERE IS THIS PLACE TO THE EXTREME!?"
Hayato let out a half-hearted and tired laugh,"Well looks like dipshit A is here..."

"Hello, Sasagawa-kun", he smiled a bit.
He wasn't even sure if this Ryohei would know him, because either he had not been to the Manor yet or already forgotten it maybe, but greeting didn't hurt either way.
And however annoying Ryohei had been, it was kind of nice to see a more familiar face at this place.

"Give him a minute he's trying to think."
"FUKAMI! ARE YOU HERE TO JOIN THE BOXING CLUB!?"
Don't mind Hayato as he just pulls a face at the sun guardian. "I'm too tired to deal with him right now..."
Apparently he's not the only one, as Tsuna quickly states that they'll explain everything to him later. Then Kusakabe speaks up, clearly quite shaken by the recent turn of events.
"There is not doubt that Sasagawa and the sun ring coming here is valuable.. but the situation is no good. Stronger than the previous funeral wreaths...how could we fight with our powers as of now..."
"Then we just have to do it rough~!"Yamamoto spoke up, finally awake. Tsuna lets out a cheerful cry obviously glad to see the rain guardian awake and doing okay.
Gokudera however puts on his best
tundere faceimpassive face, "Tch. Dipdhit B is finally up. Dumbass, making people worry."And by people he did not mean himself. All of you shut up.

But yes, the situation was no good at all. Ryuutaro thought for a little moment.
"...if I have my powers back now... I might be able to give you the advantage of knowing some details about the future, if you'd accept my humble offer. I'm not completely sure though, I'd need to test how far this world's fate lets me go."
Usually he would've never admitted to any kind of weakness, but this was a matter of life and death and he wanted to do something, even if he wasn't sure how much he could actually do.
There once was a time when he thought fate could not be changed, but that had been his world's fate.... And even if this fate was the same... At least they could maybe meet the unavoidable with some preparations made.

Reborn smiled and nodded at Ryuutaro, then turning to explain to Souichi who looked a bit confused, "Fukami-kun has already given us vital intelligence before we lead the attack here."
Souichi brightened up, and moved to the machine, "I have something to contribute as well, or more precisely, your future selfs' do." He pressed some buttons on the side of the machine, causing the center to open. Seven boxes shoot out engulfed in one of the seven elemental flames to their respective owners.
"If we can predict the level of threat, I'm sure we can train accordingly! You've all grown drastically already!"
Gokudera gives a startled look at the red box, and was a little hesitant to touch it at first... as would anyone with a brain and knowledge of what storm flames could do, but he did take the ornate little box in his hands.

As much as he disliked the entire Vongola-thing, he wanted to somehow contribute to this. It would be a bit more like he was actually carrying his own weight.
As the boxes show up, Ryuutaro said nothing and just watched. He had no real idea of these things, so he'd have to wait and see what happened and what those even were.

As Souichi finished speaking, Gokudera looked at the box in an all new light. The Tenth Vongola was entrusting this to him. He was really his chosen storm guardian. This meant that he was important to the Vongola... even though the Tenth didn't tell him about the plan, and even if he couldn't protect the Tenth from his 'death'...
He was still a valuable asset to the place that took him in.
His grip around Ryuutaro tightened a bit as his cheeks lit up and his eyes watered a bit. Here he was, the 'oriental half-breed', valued and important by one of the most prestigious famiglia's in the world. For once he felt special enough to be able to stand next to Ryuutaro proudly. He meant something in the world now... and it felt so good.

Even if Ryuutaro had no idea what was up with these boxes.
And for a moment he wondered why boxes should be any less weird than spinning topsRyuutaro smiled up at Hayato faintly. There was no 'congratulations' simply because Hayato should know by now just how natural Ryuutaro thought this was.
