When Hayato found himself back in his world, alone, he naturally had written off what happened at the manor as a dream... but at the same time... he couldn’t help but feel the pangs of heartbreak. He felt stupid for falling for something that had to have been a dream.... but the idea of having someone that loved him for just being him... it... it was too good to be true... but didn’t matter now. He had to push his feelings aside. His future self had failed the Tenth, now he was in the future with his boss to try to prevent this from happening. But it wasn’t easy, the Vongola were being hunted for their Vongola rings by the Millefiore family. While he didn't want to admit it... he was scared. He had already failed the Tenth once, he was in this strange foreign world where there was a price on his head, and to top it all off he had lost the boy who loved him.... naturally his mood had taken a SPECIAL turn south. He had already lashed out on Yamamoto a few times. Now him and the baseball idiot were screwed into an all knew lifetime because he lost his temper. One of the Millefiore generals had engaged them in a fight, Yamamoto was down, and now Hayato was being toyed with by Gamma. The man had him pinned on the ground, stepping on his hand until their was a sickening crack. Hayato screamed in agony but refused to say a word... he would gladly die for his boss’s sake. This was all his fault to begin with. If he hadn’t acted out... if his future self hadn’t failed his boss....

"I'm sorry Fukami-kun, the base is under attack, Hibari is dealing with it, but I couldn't risk your safety." She knew how broken Hayato would be if she let something happen to him. "Hayato and the others have launched a counter-attack at the Millefiore base."

It still felt horrible to be here, in need of being protected even. In this world all of the strength he'd fought so hard for meant nothing, nothing at all. He could just wait. Against his will his facial expression turned even harder.

"Hayato wanted you to hold this for him. For when he gets back."
no subject
Only now he really understood. This was a battle. But Hayato was going to come back and it was fine.
Ryuutaro closed his pale fingers around the necklace for a moment, closing his eyes. He thought of all the moments they'd spent with each other and all the moments to possibly come.
When he opened his eyes again he looked a lot more sure of himself and the situation.
"So this is it now...", he said silently, opening his hand again. If he was to keep this he might as well put it on. The material felt nice and reassuring against his skin. Hayato was going to come back for this, for him. And Ryuutaro believed in that.

She reached to Ryuutaro's shoulder and gave it a little squeeze- much in the same manner Hayato used to, before they had gotten so close. She's about to say something when a light patter of feet come from behind them. A rather small built girl with an eyepatch hobbled into the room, leaning heavily on a trident. While in the manor, Ryuutaro may have had the displeasure of encountering Mukuro, or at least seeing some of his handy work... or heard Gokudera speak ill of the illusionist... and this girl held a STRIKING resemblance to him.
Bianchi's eyes widened in surprise and she went to go help stabilize the small girl. "Chrome?! Chrome, you shouldn't be out of bed."
The girl shook her head, "I... I want to fight too! I'm needed too... right?"
no subject
As Chrome entered he immediately turned to face her, eyeing her warily. Even if his encounters with Mukuro didn't go above any very brief contact, the resemblance was really hard to miss.
And then she spoke and all Ryuutaro could do was empathize. His fan opened immediately.
"Fate's path isn't always to be properly seen at first. Only all of the pieces add up to the greater picture in the end."
Which was to say that every part was needed, even if it didn't feel like a part at first. He just had a little too much experience in telling people things that could as well have been written in a fortune-cookie.
no subject
"...Fate?"
The girl tilted her head a little bit at the unfamiliar boy. She seems to listen to his advice though... he... made sense. It didn't make waiting on the sidelines any easier though.
Bianchi sits Chrome down, and looks to Ryuutaro for a moment. He could watch her while she went to check on the girls and the children. "I'll be right back, I need to check on Lambo and the girls." Because she doubts you want to deal with Lambo, "Could you keep an eye on Chrome Fukami-kun?"
no subject
"It'll be my pleasure."
Then he turned at Chrome and gave her one of his trademark-smiles.
"I don't think we've really met yet. My name is Ryuutaro Fukami, it's nice that our paths have finally met the crossing point."
no subject
"I'm Chrome Dokuro." She looked up at Ryuutaro for a moment, not paying any mind as Bianchi left. "You're... the other illusionist, right?"
She had heard about another illusionist that had arrived with Gokudera. She had felt some sort of familiarity about him, but it was Mukuro's and not her own. She had never met the boy before. He seemed nice enough though. And if he was another illusionist... well that was a bit of familiarity in and of itself. Illusionists weren't as common as other flame users like storm and rain.

He nodded. "Indeed. I don't think I reach up anywhere close to this places standards though. I still need a lot of work to keep up with it."
And even if it was pronounced like his usual self-flattery, this time it was just the truth, nothing more. It tasted bitter on his tongue.
no subject
She smiled meekly for a moment, and nodded a little. It was the same with her. While Mukuro was so strong... she was... small and weak. She couldn't even keep up with the other guardians without his help.
"M-me too...."
And just then the door burst open to reveal Hibari....looking as irritated as ever, with Kusakabe in tow. Without a word Kusakabe went off to the other rooms. Hibari just... stared at the two illusionist for a moment... looking ever irritated.
"I hate illusionist." Just had to get that out there. He turned so that his back was facing the two, "come on. We're leaving."
no subject
"To where?"
Because after that statement there was no way in hell he'd just let this go over without a comment. He was, however, preparing to get out of the room, looking over at Chrome to see if she'd manage.
In a situation like this he knew he should put his pride back and actually obey those who knew what was going on.
no subject
"The Millefiore base."
And at that time Chrome pushed herself to her feet leaning on her trident. She was determined to join the fight too. She wanted to try to push through her weakness and make Mukuro proud. She knew he wasn't dead, he just couldn't be! He was too strong for that...
and Kusakabe comes back with a backpack with Lambo and Ipin sitting in happily.
Then Hibari looked over his shoulder with a sly smirk.
"Unless you want to stay behind."
no subject
"I wasn't intending to be any burden."
He was a bit scared, but the desperate need to do something and grow stronger, be strong was just taking over. Even if he was weaker than most of them, he was unique, he was himself and what he could do had to have to be of some kind of use.
Even if there were other illusionists, he was fairly sure none of them worked like him. And he had clair-voyage at his side as well.
no subject
"Disguise us as these men."
She nodded her head and after a moment of focusing a cloud of mist enveloped them and they appeared as the men in the picture. Though Chrome seems thoroughly winded and sweat covered her brow. Hibari pays no mind and walks out, but Kusakabe puts an arm around her to keep her on her feet, and they head off to the Millefiore base.

Chrome's condition was worrying him a bit more, but not too much. People here needed to know how far they could push themselves for themselves. He couldn't handle worrying for anybody else than Hayato.
So he just followed silently and warily.

They're led to a set of mechanically locked doors. The leader of the team, stops right in front of the door weapon drawn.
"Our priority is to retrieve Mr. Gamma's and Gokudera's rings. If Gokudera and Sasagawa are still alive, kill them." He paused for a moment, "Alright we have the green light."
And then Chrome allows the guises to drop.
"I don't think so..."
Instantly panic takes over the three from the recon group as they look at Chrome.
"R-Rokudo Mukuro!?"
She just shakes her head.
"No. My name is Chrome."
And then while they're distacted by Chrome, Kusakabe punches them in the face, knocking them out. Score one team ninjas. Kusakabe is quick to open the doors to reveal an absolutely DECIMATED room, still foggy and hot from the aftershock of the final attack. Off to the side is Ryohei- still as his older self, and more towards the center of the room is Gokudera, laying face down on the ground...

Ryuutaro didn't run there though. He knew that would be stupid. He knew this could all be one giant trap and running in there headlessly could end up in a disaster.
His first steps were slow and wary, but when nothing happened they fastened up until he could kneel down next to Hayato, anxiously turning him around.
The how maniest time was this for him to look at an injured Hayato? He couldn't tell anymore, but it didn't get better the more it happened.
Everytime he could feel his heart hammer against his chest, his body getting cold.
He was scared. Every single time.
no subject
He looked up at Ryuutaro and smiled a big bright smile.
"Ryuutaro... what are you doing here?" Hayato shook his head a little bit. Who CARED what he was doing here?! He was here... Hayato reached his arms up and wrapped them around his boyfriend's neck and started laughing. "I won...."
He did it. He had taken a step to getting them home... he had finally done it.
no subject
He was so relieved. Just so relieved.
"I know...", he replied serenely.
This time he had been pretty sure at least. Ryuutaro softly brushed his hand through Hayato's hair.
"And I'm glad..."
no subject
"...it looks good on you...." He gave Ryuutaro a peck on the cheek and tried to get up, but his legs shook and gave out beneath him. "Sh-shit..."
He was too tired to walk on his own, everything hurt, instead he held on a bit more to Ryuutaro. It was odd... this was the first time Ryuutaro had been the one to come and rescue him... at least like this. Ryuutaro had saved him in other ways countless times...
"Mind if I lean on you, Tesoro? I'm... real tired..."
no subject
"Naturally. That's what I'm here for."
It would be slightly odd for him to come here and then deny Hayato his help after all. Even though he'd been pretty much dragged to this place.
He adjusted the positions of his arms so he could assist Hayato properly.

He starts to follow Kusakabe who had everyone's favorite loudmouth, Ryohei, on his back, down the halls.
...And as they walk, Hayato waits for a moment when he knows no one is watching, and sneaks Ryuutaro a quick peck on the cheek. He was so glad Ryuutaro was here... after that fight... it was like something just sort of weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He won. He did his job for the Tenth. He did his job for the Vongola... and he was going to make thing's right by Ryuutaro.
no subject
He smiled at Hayato softly. This battle did turn out right at least and he was glad.
The only thing he wished for now was knowing what would happen after this. Even if he had got his fortune-telling back that didn't mean he could just know about everything he wanted to.
And he did not have the time to properly read into anything, so right now he had to wait, just like everybody else.
