When Hayato found himself back in his world, alone, he naturally had written off what happened at the manor as a dream... but at the same time... he couldn’t help but feel the pangs of heartbreak. He felt stupid for falling for something that had to have been a dream.... but the idea of having someone that loved him for just being him... it... it was too good to be true... but didn’t matter now. He had to push his feelings aside. His future self had failed the Tenth, now he was in the future with his boss to try to prevent this from happening. But it wasn’t easy, the Vongola were being hunted for their Vongola rings by the Millefiore family. While he didn't want to admit it... he was scared. He had already failed the Tenth once, he was in this strange foreign world where there was a price on his head, and to top it all off he had lost the boy who loved him.... naturally his mood had taken a SPECIAL turn south. He had already lashed out on Yamamoto a few times. Now him and the baseball idiot were screwed into an all knew lifetime because he lost his temper. One of the Millefiore generals had engaged them in a fight, Yamamoto was down, and now Hayato was being toyed with by Gamma. The man had him pinned on the ground, stepping on his hand until their was a sickening crack. Hayato screamed in agony but refused to say a word... he would gladly die for his boss’s sake. This was all his fault to begin with. If he hadn’t acted out... if his future self hadn’t failed his boss....

"I dunno, whatever you want to make!" And he's just in such a good mood... "I'll help too if you want!"
It would be something to keep him awake at any rate...
no subject
But well, helping was different than doing it alone, right? Ryuutaro could still prevent the apocalypse in case it threatened to begin. And it would surely be kind of funny to watch...
"Why not? I'd be delighted" - in every way - "And to make a decision we need to see what you even have stored in this kitchen..."
Underground and god-knows-where as they were.
no subject
"Just tell me what to do!"
Luckily the kitchen is very well stocked, the Vongola funding cutting no corners in that sense.
no subject
That's how he got to know Sata Andagi in first place - back then when a ship actually agreed to bring him and all his stuff to Okinawa and all. They weren't a proper meal for themselves, but added with some usual Nattodon it'd make for feeding them properly, he supposed.
Also hopefully there was not too much to go wrong with this.
... probably he was just paranoid about Hayato touching anything inside a kitchen. Hopefully.
Ryuutaro silently got everything he might need out, thinking about what he could give Hayato to do.
Teamwork, whut is this even?"Can you whisk this?", he said, pointing to eggs, a bit of water, vanilla flavour as well as some flour.
That should be possible, right? Right.
no subject
or it wouldn't if he hadn't gotten about half the flour all over him. He doesn't seemed deterred at all in his enthusiasm to help to, intensely stirring everything together, flour all over his shirt, arms, and face... and somehow even managed to get on his pants... he probably should have put on an apron. How he managed to do that is beyond anyone, but he finishes, with a big proud smile on his face.
"I finished! What's next?"
no subject
It was rather distracting, to say the least, but as Ryuutaro was quite an okay cook so he managed to successfully wash rice and start cooking it in the meantime - not without constantly keeping an eye on Hayato and his growing... well, whiteness?
It was somewhere between disturbing, amusing and strangely fascinating. Only that smile kept Ryuutaro from making any comment.
"Can you heat this oil in the deep fryer?", he said, sounding a bit unsure. After what he'd seen with the flour he wasn't sure if letting Hayato deal with anything flammable was a goiod idea. Then again, that was a silly thought, if anybody knew about fire and all the things related it was his boyfriend.
And besides, he was here. And he'd make very sure to keep an eye on everything that was going on.
no subject
Hayato did as he was told, however... began obsessively trying to get the PERFECT amount of oil in the fryer... to the point where he is adjusting it by spoonfuls, blissfully unaware that the oil is getting hotter...
Now would probably be a good time to pull him away from that before he does something disastrous and hurts himself.
no subject
Oh god, no. Seriously?
Ryuutaro very quickly walked over, firmly (but not roughly at all) pushing Hayato back, turning down the temperature and quickly let a spoon of the batter drop into the oil as well.
"Not to insult your love for preciseness, but I'd like to remark that exaggerating with it can occasionally get quite dangerous", he smiled, "Lesson one would be that cooking sometimes isn't about exact correctness as much as getting done with things quickly."
no subject
Clearly he had no idea what he was doing was wrong...
But he nodded cheerfully at Ryuutaro's advice... though his boyfriend would be a fool to think Hayato can just ignore his impulses to make things PERFECT... at least as far as measurements went.
"Gotcha!" No he doesn't. Not at all. "What should I do next then?!"
no subject
Ryuutaro sighed a bit. Somewhere between cute and a danger to humanity, that described Hayato in combination with the kitchen very well.
Ryuutaro decided it would be best not to leave Hayato anywhere close to the deep fryer and instead let him spent time with the rice, which was just finished cooking.
"It'd be nice if you could split up the rice between two plates, alright?"
... he could do nothing wrong here, even if he started counting the single pieces.
no subject
So he walked up to his boyfriend with the two bowl, awaiting further instruction.
no subject
He put the Sata Andagi out of the water himself, while further instructing Hayato.
"Now the natto over there needs to be mixed with the soy sauce. We're almost done."
And then Hayato would definitely need to get rid of that flour all over him, as adorable as it might look.
no subject
And Hayato walks over to the soy sauce and natto, and poured it in with the sauce and worked on mixing it... and once again struggled to stir it. Though that may be because he's holding the spoon at an awkward angle as he stirs... or maybe it's because he's trying to focus on a several other things while he's stirring.
Regardless, it's getting messy again.
no subject
Suddenly he had to smile. To him this came just a bit more naturally then it would be reasonable. And that was amazing in it's own way.
"That's it, then. We just need to put this on the natto and we'll be finished. We should probably eat before we clean up, seeing how hungry you must be..."
no subject
"Sounds good to me, I could eat a friggin' horse!"
He laughed a little as he spoke, clearly excited to eat. This was the first time he actually made something with someone else!
...this was also the first time he made something potentially edible to people.
no subject
He sat down at the table together with Hayato after putting our the tablewere.
What would the meals be like when things returned to this world's normal? Ryuutaro couldn't help, but wonder. Staying here probably meant that they would finally move in with each other properly - for the time Ryuutaro decided to spent at the same place before going on trips for a while, if he could do so again.
"Let's eat!", he said, definitely not letting go of Japanese habits like that.
KEYWORDS SUM THIS PART OF THE THREAD UP MARVELOUSLY.
Hayato managed to pull himself away from the food for a moment to look up at his boyfriend with a big genuine smile.
"It's really good!"
AWWWWW <3
Looking up at Hayato, he smiled. "It is."
If Hayato knew how adorable he looked right now, just like this, dirty, eating, smiling. A part of Ryuutaro wanted to comment though that some cleaning up was really in order now.
no subject
When he was finally done, he sat back and let out a content sigh.
"That... was amazing..."
no subject
"And quite entertaining to make", he smirked.
no subject
"It was fun wasn't it? I... don't usually make food... at least nothing people could actually eat..."
He laughed a bit, and absentmindedly rubbed his eye with the palm of his hand sleepily... smudging some of the flour on his face. He's oblivious to all of this though.
no subject
"You might really want to clean yourself up sometime soon..."
no subject
Then Hayato looked down at his shirt, and then promptly pulled it off over his head. At the dinner table. Such class. He did have a tanktop on underneath though, so at least it wasn't full frontal bare chest nudity... though he doubted Ryuutaro cared even if it was.
and he wiped his hands off on his shirt. There. Clean and keeping it classy.
no subject
"That's... one way to do it. But with such negligent ways you're missing out on details..."
Ryuutaro leaned forward reached out to softly wipe the flour of Hayato's face as well.
no subject
He leaned forward as well to meet Ryuutaro's hand, and allowed his boyfriend to
motherbrush off his face. If he were the type to muse on such things he would wonder at what point he allowed Ryuutaro to coddle him like a child...but alas he wasn't, and therefore didn't give a crap. This was Ryuutaro, he could do whatever he wanted with him.
