Gokudera tenses up a bit when he hears Ryuutaro speak, suddenly snapped back to reality. He felt that heavy feeling settle back into his chest and stomach. Look what he got Ryuutaro dragged into. This whole situation just kept getting harder and harder. All he wanted was to do right by the Vongola and make Ryuutaro happy, but it was starting to feel like he could only do one or the other. As much as he was starting to hate himself for it, the Vongola had to come first, especially now. If the Vongola failed here there was no telling what Byakuran would turn this world into. Much less what he would do to the Vongola. Like he had said, he didn't bring Ryuutaro here to be made miserable and then killed, but it was looking like he couldn't help Ryuutaro being miserable.
"I'm sorry..."
Naturally Gokudera was no longer paying much attention to the conversation between Souichi and his boss. The important explanation was over however, now the main discussion being about the importance of the Varia buying them time. Finally the doors of the container are opened to let them out, which Hayato follows, leading Ryuutaro by the hand, though he's lacking the spark he had earlier when the situation was dire.
