Hayato started rubbing Ryuutaro's back, holding him close. Whispering in his ear "Everything is going to be okay." and "I'll protect you." Both claims he felt completely sure of. With his boss out there... and Hibari trapped inside the glass prison as well, he was completely sure they would be fine.
Lal Mirch called out to destroy the machine, which Hayato promptly chimed in with agreement, assuming it would fix everything and send them back to the past. Souichi had other plans however...

Then the machine starts to open... Souichi continues speaking, but his words are lost in the shock of what the machine holds. The slumbering future selves of everyone present, as well as the girls who were back at the base...
