 | Light Yagami: Well these two got off to QUITE a rough start, to the point where Hayato would have liked NOTHING better to pound his face in until it was coming out his ass. But after helping out Misa, and taking a liking to his sister, Hayato felt he was a bit more obliged to not be QUITE AS MUCH OF A DICK to Light. And for similar reason Light has been surprisingly civil, sparing him from Hayato's bursts of temper. Hayato is still VERY distrustful of Yagami, and clearly doesn't like him. Though the dislike seems to have turned into a mutual agreement at this point. They hate each other- BUT MOVE ON WITH THEIR LIVES. |
 | Nice Holystone: Hayato met her on his first day. And she committed one of the number one offenses in Gokudera's book. She crushed his cigarettes. He walked with her a bit and she gave him some alcohol, and he quickly got completely shitfaced. Her last words to him as he was puking his guts out implied she had done something to the vodka (while she really hadn't). Given his situation growing up with his sister, this freaked him out MUCH MORE then it should, and he is since EXTREMELY wary of her. |
 | Naomi Misora: Naomi was one of the first to lecture Hayato after robbing a convenience store on his first day at the manor. He instantly labeled her as one of the 'justice brigade' and was quick to become defensive. After explaining the situation he threw a fit, verbally taking it out on her. Despite this she offered the service of the residential Doctors. Hayato obviously trusted her as far as he could throw her, but he did file away the offer for future reference. For the most part he sees her as an annoying nag, and has successfully discouraged her from having children in the future. |
 | John Dillinger: Hayato doesn't quite know what to make of John. On their first meeting, John aided Hayato in his escaping the scene. Hayato allowed him to be a distraction but fearing a trap didn't take his advice on where to hide out. Regardless of trust or intentions Hayato feels he owes this guy a favor and plans to pay it back. |
 | Black Jack: Black Jack gave Hayato QUITE A STARTLE when he walked in on him playing the piano. This somehow escalated into a piano-off. Feeling like his secret was out he regarded the doctor bitterly, even after Black Jack gave him a nice dry cigarette. TROLOL DOCTORS GIVING 14 YEAR OLDS CIGARETTES! Also with the addition of his kid or whatever Pinoko is, Hayato just thinks him all the more weird. I mean really! WHO WANTS A KID?! Though after the incident with Gaara and his leg, and Black Jack essentially saved not only the teen’s life, but his leg, Hayato’s disdain for the doctor has diminished. The usual fuss he puts up to him is simply habit to the teen. Utterly harmless squabbling. Though he could live without the debt that got saddled on him because of it. |
 | Iroh: During the week where they were reduced to children, Hayato in all his frantic stress cussed out Iroh, not expecting him to be an elder. When he discovered that Iroh was an old man he felt guilty, but did his best not to show it. He calmed down immediately after, but refused to accept the fact that there was no way out of the manor. He was too desperate to return to his boss and felt that there was no way Iroh could understand his situation. However, after a few more encounters with the old man, Hayato discovered that he was a 'fire bender’... and like with most supernatural things his ENTIRE attitude did a 180 and he was fanboying all over Iroh like a teenage girl at a backstreet boys concert. Ever since the teen has been much more civil, and even a little bit open to the old man... granted that was truth week, and he didn’t really have much of a choice... |
 | Zira: During the week where they were reduced to children, Hayato in all his frantic stress cussed out Iroh, not expecting him to be an elder. When he discovered that Iroh was an old man he felt guilty, but did his best not to show it. He calmed down immediately after, but refused to accept the fact that there was no way out of the manor. He was too desperate to return to his boss and felt that there was no way Iroh could understand his situation. |
 | Sayu Yagami: Hayato never really expected to make a (normal) friend at the manor. In fact it all happened by accident. He had offered food to what he assumed was a little kid over a text, only to find out it was a (kinda cute) girl his age... who had an UNCANNY resemblence to Haru from back home... only less annoying. He's been doing his best to try and keep her friendship, though making normal friends is a new thing for him, and he constantly feels as though he's mucking it up. He doesn't want to lie, but at the same time he doesn't want her to know everything about him either. Of course, after her brother found out about his past he felt cornered into telling her about it. Better he say it, then Bowlhead... |
 | The Doctor (11): During the epidemic week, in an attempt to help Hayato, Sayu called the 11th Doctor to try an help. Hayato instantly got agressive towards any help the Doctor offered him, seeing him as a mad man with a screwdriver who just EXPECTED that he was going to be respected. The fact that he was a doctor didn't help much either. Hayato would have nothing to do with the man, despite Sayu's coaxing, even going as far as to shove Sayu off him (which he instantly regretted), and then moved to storm off. And just because he hates the guy, he internally blames the whole incident on him. And things never really got much better after that. Any of the Doctor’s attempt to communicate were shut down in a whirlwind of cussing and shouting. The more the Doctor tried to force himself into Hayato's life, the more he was pushed away. |
 | Leonardo da Vinci: Though Hayato will be hard pressed to admit it, he doesn't mind the over-cheerful Italian all that much. While he's often gruff and rather short with him, it's just Hayato being Hayato. He actually finds it rather nice to have someone to speak Italian with on occasion. HE WILL NEVER ADMIT THIS. |
 | Megamind: Hayato took a liking to Megamind as soon as he, well... saw him actually. So mind blown about ACTUALLY meeting an ACTUAL alien that was ACTUALLY from SPACE, the little mystery hunter COMPLETELY forgot that he was holding the entire conversation in his pajamas. Embarassed, he tried a few times to remedy the situation a few times, but didn't end up doing to well, his attitude snuck through regardless of how he tried to supress it. The two seem to be on good terms, as Megamind accepted him into his band of merry men group of people with "noble hearts". While Hayato made it clear that he was far from noble, he offered his services as a hitman, and and any other skills that would come in handy. It all works out for Hayato, since he gets to see all the totally awesome alien technology! |
 | Zarbon: Another alien! Hayato has had QUITE a bit of trouble getting this one to talk. No matter how much he follows him around, does what he tells him and asks questions he doesn't seem to want to divulge ANYTHING!. That doesn't deter Hayato though! It just means that he has to TRY annoying the shit out of him HARDER! Though the fight with Vegeta was so enlightening! Apparently he bleeds blue and can turn into a frog like creature! And shoot beams! Hayato will need to interview him about this later! |
 | Wonderweiss Magarta: Wonderweiss is another mystery to Hayato. He claimed to be an "Arancar", something Hayato has no idea what to make of. He looks human.... aside from the gaping hole in his chest. So Hayato has decided on classifying him as a U.M.A rather than an extra terrestrial. For now. Over time he's taken to looking out for the small Arrancar. He treats his injuries and tries to keep him in as good shape as he can with his VERY limited knowledge on the subject. He doesn't want his U.M.A. to get hurt! Hayato has also begun to teach the Arrancar some signs and such to make it easier for him to communicate...and this was done entirely by accident. After all, what kind of Italian doesn't talk with their hads? So this makes wonderweiss what? A mute Italian? |
 | Misa Amane: Hayato feels like he owes Misa a great deal. After getting attacked whole in her body and forced to divulge the secret of her shinigami eyes, his guilty conscience has been busting his balls ever since. A bit less so after he "took care" of B. But he would still do anything to make sure Misa was okay. He was a bit heartbroken when she disappeared, he didn't know many normal people who liked him, but knew it was for the better. Though when he came back he couldn't help but be a bit glad. He's already set himself up to be her little body guard for the time being. And perhaps a shoulder to cry on if she needs it. She has essentially become the older sister that never tried to kill him. Naturally Misa's suicide after Light left DEEPLY shook the teen, as he was one of the first on the scene. In truth he still hasn't quite gotten over it yet. Especially as Misa has yet to return. |
 | Fukami Ryuutaro: If there was ever the most unexpected friendships to ever happen, this is it. Under normal circumstances, Hayato would have been his usual vulgar, pugnacious self with Ryuutaro, who being the little primadonna he is, would have simply dismissed Hayato and they would have been done with eachother. But the way they met and how things were timed the two have become very close friends... even a little bit more, which has been the source of much confusion for the teen. He’s not even quite sure how to treat Ryuutaro, so he has simply settled on treating him as if he were a girl... which may be part of the confusion. Hayato doesn’t understand anything feminine.
What started as a fascination with Ryuutaro's fortune-telling abilities evolved into casual friends, that is until the incident with Gokudera’s leg. Despite the morbid situation and Gokudera’s drugged and depressed state of mind, Ryuutaro stayed with him. Words could not express his gratitude so he made it a point to repay the favor by looking out for Ryuutaro in the more dangerous plots. Which he made sure to follow through on despite the condition of his leg, much to poor Ryuutaro's worry.
They have had a few disagreements here and there. First during prison week, where Hayato lashed out at Ryuutaro for trying to call him out for not being well, which was very true, he wasn’t. However, his weakness is not something he liked to have brought to his attention. Despite being in the middle of a little argument, Hayato still looked out for Ryuutaro, willingly getting his own ass royally beaten to give his friend some more time to recuperate outside. The following week things didn’t go much better. During the fated truth week, Hayato was forced to spew out all his insecurities about the friendship whenever Ryuutaro asked. In turn Ryuutaro was forced to do the same, revealing he wasn’t exactly the little angel he always played himself off to be. Honestly afraid of this vulnerability Hayato retreated to his room for the remainder of the week and the two did not see each other again until the week after.
During titanic week they met up again, and awkwardly made amends. There’s a little shattered trust, and Hayato has somewhat rebuilt the wall up around Ryuutaro that at one point he has voluntarily let fall, telling his friend about the history with his mother. He’s not used to this level of friendship outside of the Vongola, and the deep seeded fear of eventually getting rejected is ever-present, yet he can’t bring himself to break away from the friendship. He’s not even sure what Ryuutaro sees in him, other than someone to protect him. It is beginning to come to the point where the closer they get as friends, the more the friendship frightens him.
Recently due to a plot, Ryuutaro and Hayato had become forcibly infatuated with eachother after eating some... altered food. During which time Ryuutaro told Hayato why he was fond of him, and promised not to leave him. However, when the effects wore off, despite still having feelings for Ryuutaro, he feared that Ryuutaro would not feel the same. He thought that giving Ryuutaro a way out would be the right thing to do (after all who could REALLY like him like that?). Apparently that was the wrong decision. Ryuutaro became infuriated, much to Gokudera’s surprise. Even more surprising Ryuutaro didn’t take back a word. Which left Hayato a big bunch of jumbled and confused. After a good talk with Tali, she encouraged him to tell Ryuutaro how he felt... and really, how could an ALIEN ever be wrong? So he did and now he is in the most awkward relationship of the century. Gokudera is still very fearful that Ryuutaro will up and abondon him, but he's trying to learn to trust him. |
 | Near: A worthless annoying little brat just begging to be kicked in the ribs repeatedly. |
 | Hiiro Yui Hayato doesn't have much of an opionion of Hiiro. The alien simpley told him to "take care" of someone who bothered him, and like any good hitman he went to do his job. During the fight however, Hayato was surprised by the other boys fighting prowess, and earned Hayato's respect as an opponent. |
 | Hattori Heiji Hayato isn't one to out his trust in just anyone, nor does he often allow people chances to earn his trust. However, during body swap week, he was forced to allow Hattori to take care of his body, and much to his surprise he did a damn good job. He even went as far as smoking to prevent his body from getting sick. Not only that he kept the Vongola ring safe, and is probably the only person in the manor who knows of the ring's importance to Hayato. For these reasons Hayato feels he owes Hattori, but at the same time, should he need help he'll probably go too him first. He is totally unaware of a plan made my his older self and Hatori to use the teen's debt complex to go out and do something normal and social for once |
 | Beyond Birthday After He attacked Hayato when he was in Misa's body to interrogate him about Misa's skills, this guy has been on Hayato's hit list. And Hayato took care of him by setting him on fire during the trip to the alien planet. He's unaware that is was B that set his room on fire, which is good otherwise he would waste no time in trying to hunt the psycho down and blowing him up... and having those two at odds would be a terrible for everyone. |
 | Sabaku no Temari Another close friend of Hayato's only unlike Ryuutaro, he made friends with her the same way he makes most of his ‘friends'- he picked a fight... and pretty much got served. At first he viewed Temari as a complete and utter bitch, but she was a ninja... and that makes things kind of badass. So with VERY mixed feelings on the subject, they started a shaky friendship under the guise of sparing partners.
Of course not even a FULL WEEK after, Gokudera picked a fight with her younger brother Gaara for what he had done to Ryohei. Of course this ended horribly for all parties involved. Gokudera’s leg was crushed and Ryohei was litterally a booger-flick away from death, when there was a timely intervention of the author and Ryohei was sent home for a time. Gokudera wasn’t as lucky, and was forced to deal with the treatment of his crushed leg. Much to his surprise Temari stayed by his side the entire time. While the memories are foggy and not all there he does remember her presence and chopped up bits of conversation. Even the following week during the worst of his recovery she came to visit and look out for him. She offered to take him in and protect him in case his place in the Vongola was compromised. He had not experienced someone caring for him like that since Tsuna. That is when Temari went from ‘that bitch that kicked his ass’ to ‘a good friend’.
In gratitude for her actions, Gokudera made sure to look out for her ever since without (too much) complaint. As much as he bitches and moans about how difficult she can be, he doesn’t really mind. It’s the ‘manly’ thing to do to watch out for a girl... despite that he frequently forgets that Temari is, in fact, a female (he does have a tendency to treat Temari like one of the guys). Despite this (and the awkward moments that ensue because of it) he enjoys hanging out with her.
Overall Temari is a close and invaluable friend. While he hasn’t known her as long as Ryuutaro, she has made her way into Hayato’s very small, circle of very close friends. It’s not an easy place to get to, but she’s there, and has and unrelentingly loyal friend to watch her back. |
 | Sabaku no Gaara There are no words to describe the sheer loathing Gokudera has for Gaara. Not only did he almost permanently cripple Gokudera but he attacked Ryohei twice, almost killing him the second time. Essentially he has attacked the Vongola. However, Hayato has a close friendship with Gaara's sister, he owes her his life. He also knows Gaara means something to his sister, so because of his debt to Temari, he will BEGRUDGINLY help the little brat if he sees him in trouble. Of course he'll be damned if he doesn't let the little shit sweat it out first. |
 | Frieza Frieza is an ALIEN LORD! Albeit a very tiny alien lord, BUT STILL AN ALIEN LORD! Hayato plans to get a much as he can on his species and empire and pretty much EVERYTHING that has to do with the alien. This one even seems to be much more willing to talk then Zarbon! It's GREAT! |
 | Burter ANOTHER ALIEN! Apparently part of some "Ginyu Force" and the "fastest in the universe" that's what she said. Hayato REALLY wants to get in this one's good graces. Learn more about this "Ginyu Force" and possibly well... he wants to know everything Burter knows. |
